Lydia Dainow founded her first beauty institute and ran a cosmetology school in Geneva in 1934, which led to the development of a very special skincare program. Here, too, this pioneer forged her own path, her philosophy being to protect and nourish the skin during the day with rich skincare products. At night, however, she used lighter textures so as not to hinder the skin's natural function, but rather to support its nightly regeneration and detoxification. In 1946, she was one of the co-founders of FREC (Fédération Romande d'esthétique et de cosmetologie) and CIDESCO (Comitée internationale d'esthétique et de cosmetologie), thus laying crucial foundations for the profession of cosmetologist as we know it today. She was often described as a role model and pioneer of cosmetic and aesthetic treatments.
